Welcome!

This site exists because our community deserves more than waiting for the next public meeting to understand what's happening in our neighborhood.

Advisory Neighborhood Commissions occupy a unique position in DC's home rule structure—hyperlocal government that bridges residents and the institutional machinery of city agencies, developers, and decision-makers. We're not ceremonial. We're statutory. And when we function well, we're powerful advocates for the people who live here.

But that only works with transparency and access.

Why This Site Matters

Not everyone can attend evening meetings. Not everyone learns best by reading meeting minutes weeks later. Not everyone has the same entry points into civic life, and that's fine—it should be.

For those who want digital access to what's happening in 4E, this is it. For those who prefer other channels—email, phone calls, stopping me on the sidewalk—those remain open and equally valued.

This site is for people who want to:

  • Understand what ANC 4E is working on right now

  • Access meeting agendas, resolutions, and correspondence

  • Contact their commissioner without digging through city databases

  • See how hyperlocal government actually operates in real time

Work in Progress (Always)

Consider this site permanently under construction—not because it's broken, but because it reflects something dynamic. Issues change. City priorities shift. Community concerns evolve. A static website wouldn't serve anyone well.

What you'll find here will be updated regularly, sometimes imperfectly, always honestly. Some pages will be more complete than others. Some information will be preliminary. That's the nature of representing a living neighborhood, not performing representation for one.

If something's missing, unclear, or could be better—tell us. This resource improves as residents shape it.
